My New Warboss And Nob Biker Conversions Part 2

Well it looks like the end is near in sight, and the unit is about 90% complete and I have made a few changes, to a couple of things. So I wonder who's going to be the first one to notice what they are.
I think this is the best bit of the hobby that I really like, is when you start to see your project come to life as it's nearing completion, because for some strange reason it all seems to come together.

 –

 I have also expanded the nob squad to 7 which I'm hoping to have ready for my next tournament.

I originally did a different banner but I think this one is more in keeping with the unit over all.

From the back you can never have too many trophies, that's what it's all about, although I don't know why he has a spanner as if, he would fix anything anyway.

I decided to add another PK to the unit as it will give much needed punch, in CC.

I've also added the units pain boy and his saw is probably the best bit.

And if you have any project yourselves that you need help with by all means make contact.

My FORGE WORLD Dakkajet Part 4 How To Make It A Little Bit More Unique, and I am nearly finished

So I thought it was about time that I uploaded some more pic's, of what progress I have made over the last couple of days, and as you see it is definitely coming along.

From start to finish the project has been really enjoyable and he is starting to come to life, so hopefully you will agree and check out the pictures.

These are actually Forge world fuel tanks that a very good friend of mine give me, not so long ago. So they have definitely come in handy.

The big man himself in all his glory, I'm really looking forward to getting him painted up.

 I decided to add a some plastic card around the cockpit as there was gaps showing.

So I think he's nearly finished and in my next post and going to start painting. I haven't quite decided what colour he is going to be but I'm sure whatever it is he's going to stand out.

My FORGE WORLD Dakkajet Part 3 How To Make It A Little Bit More Unique.

So over the last few days I have managed to spend a little bit more time on this bad boy. Hopefully I will get him finished in the next couple of weeks.

As you can see I'm quite a fan of using wiremesh as it definitely keeps with the overall ork look. I've also added a couple more bits of plastic card, which in turn make's the model a little bit more unique.

I'm really pleased the way the guns have turned out

Still a little bit more work to do in regards to it's stand, so hopefully I'll be able to show more progress soon.

So there you have it, I'm going to be on the lookout on eBay for another Forge world model, as there's something about it I really like.

My 500pts Ork Combat Patrol List

So with the new 40k 6th rules been released, I thought it might be a good idea to organise, a small 500pts 40k in 40 minutes Tournament with my local gaming group North Down Gamer's Hub that we can easily do in one nigth. It's not competitive, it will just give us the opportunity of playing 3 quick games that will in turn will give us the opportunity of learning the new rules.

Many moons ago, back in 4th Edition Warhammer 40,000, there was another mode of play called Combat Patrols, or 40k in 40 Minutes. Since then I haven't managed to find an updated rules-set for similarly small-scale games, so I figured with the release of 6th Edition I'd give it a go myself. Back in those days the point size for Combat Patrols was set at 400, but I felt that 500 may be a better size in this latest version of the game. With that in mind, I read through the rulebook and came up with the following changes to the main rules to better fit this small format:

Combat Patrol forces are 500-point-maximum, no Allies armies chosen from one in-print 40K Codex which *must* have at least one core Troops choice; the remainder of the Force Org can be chosen from a maximum of one HQ choice (maximum 2 Wounds, no 2+ Saves), vehicles with a maximum AV of 34 (adding Front, Rear and Side Armour [once]), and units which do not exceed 2 Wounds and do not include 2+ Saves. A Combat Patrol Commander figure must be identified; this will be the HQ choice if taken, or a unit leader otherwise. The HQ choice will be able to roll on the Warlord chart for this event if ordinarily eligible to do so. Fortifications *may* be chosen for this event as part of the player's 500 point force, as per V6 rules.

Each player’s Combat Patrol is limited to 500pts with a unique Force Allocation Chart:

0-1 HQ
1-3 Troops
0-1 Elite
0-1 Fast Attack
0-1 Heavy Support
0-1 Swing Slot (can be used as a bonus slot for any one other type)

So if you live in and around the Bangor area in Northern Ireland and you might be interested in taking part check out the events page on Facebook

So with all that in mind here is what I'm thinking of taking

+ HQ +

    * Big Mek
        Choppa, Shokk Attack Gun

+ Elites +

    * Lootas
        5x Loota

+ Troops +

    * Ork Boyz
        20x Boy Shoota
        * Nob
            Big Choppa, Bosspole

+ Fast Attack +

    * Dakkajet
        (Waagh! Plane)
        2 Twin-linked supa shootas, Additional twin-linked supa shoota

+ Heavy Support +

    * Big Gunz
        * Big Gun
            2x Grot Krew, Kannon
        * Big Gun
            2x Grot Krew, Kannon
        * Big Gun
            2x Grot Krew, Kannon
        * Runtherd
            Grabba Stikk

So there you have it what do you think, it's got some interesting units and things that I've never played before, and it will give me much-needed motivation to get things painted up ready for tournament.

Thank You All For 50.000 Total Pageviews

So today has been a rather special day, that I have reached over 50,000 page hits, which is absolutely fantastic.So as always a big thank you to everyone that has enjoyed my blog for over two years now.

When I first started I was quite intimidated,  and it took me a while, alot was trial and error on my part, but it just goes to show that it's very easy to get your own blog up and running, I feel that blogs have a place to archive your hobby and that is the reason why I do mine.

There's nothing better at looking back at previous projects. In fact it's the best form of motivation. The community is very small and in my opinion some of the best hobby content available is with blogs, handsdown no competition.

So something to celebrate and be proud of, so once again a big thank you and here's to
the next 50,000 Total Pageviews.

My Orks Big Gunz Conversions Kannon

I did these a little time ago, and I am only getting around to getting them on my blog today. No respecting ork warboss worth his salt would leave home, without 9 of these bad boys.

So the conversions themselves are straightforward to do, as you see in the pictures. I find using bits of plastic card to lengthen the barrels, gives them a little bit more of a natural look, and makes it easier to identify them on the tabletop.

Must admit I'm quite pleased how they are working out, so if you have any
questions you know what to do.
