My new 40k display board part 2

Following on from my last post, the most important thing is to keep thing simple, when it comes to painting. Below you can see my first, coat of paint which has been applied all over, and it might help to add a little bit of water to your paint.

Now it's time to start dry brushing, there's plenty of articles online that will go into a lot more detail in regards to this technique.

So third and final highlight is now complete.

You can simply just apply static grass directly, although overtime I do recommend that you apply a base coat of green beforehand, as sometimes it will show underneath.

And there you have it job done, from the very start this is a very simple project and hopefully it will inspire you to make the effort and do one for yourself. Also there is nothing more satisfying than attending your next tournament and showcasing your army to its best potential.

Just showcasing the start of my new 40k display board.

Not wanting to be out done by my best friend AJ, and rival nemesis on the tabletop, it was about time that I had a quick go at trying to make a display board for tomorrow's tournament. From the very start it needs to be said that this is extremely quick, as I was still drying the paint with a hairdryer whilst applying a black primer. So hopefully I'll have a little bit more of an update very soon.

For the majority of my scenery projects I will used this texture paint, although expensive it's definitely long-lasting and hard wearing which is exactly what you want.

My display cabinet, has just had a little bit of a clear out.

It's amusing as gamers how much crap we accumulate overtime, so it was about time that my Display cabinet had a little bit of a clear out. Much to the annoyance of my partner this takes centre stage in my living room, in fact it's one of the only areas that I own in the house, and there is definitely an advantage to having all your models fully displayed, as it lets you see the projects that you've currently completed and the ones that are still outstanding. Surprisingly I have never actually counted the points of all the orks I own, but it would easily top 5000 points, and as you can see they definitely take centre stage, and quite rightly too. Looking back I cannot imagine the number of hobby hours spent painting and modelling, it's probably best that I don't, nonetheless I'm still very please of my achievement but it's a never ending battle there is something always need to start and something to finish. So enjoy.

It's really good to look at your army all at once, as sometimes it can be quite rare for you to see everything together, it makes you realise and appreciate all the different elements that hopefully make it complete.

Still a lot of white which means I need to finish these guys, as they do stick out like sore thumbs, but I suppose it's the best form of motivation.

My New 40k Ork Objective Markers.

With a tournament on the horizon this weekend, it makes you focus on all the things that you need to do to finish your army that you are taking, and this is one of the things that I have been needing to do for quite some time now. Strangely I have never actually done proper objective markers, but hopefully the examples below will give some of you guys a little bit of inspiration. I'm not too sure what exactly the Gretchen are doing, as they look very busy, but I'm sure there is a purpose after all. Although a friend recommended it must be of religious significatants, rocks are after all placed by Gork and Mork!

Plus it's an opportunity to use all your little bits and pieces that you have laying around in your bits box, that have not got a home yet.
