My Fully Converted and Themed Night Goblin Army 3000pts

In many ways I'm sorry to see this project go and once finished it will certainly stand out on the tabletop, all it really needs is a little touch up here and there and of course painted, but once that's is achieved, you will be the envy of your friends and your gaming group.

It would easily be 2000+ points comfortably with just bog standard infantry on the table top. Not to mention the Warmachines, Giant, Characters and Wizards , these items could take it up to 2500/3000+ points
Below you will find a fully converted and themed Night Goblin Army. But don’t take my word for it-check out the pictures below and you can see it for yourself.

The majority of the units come with their own custom movement trays which in turn makes it a lot easier to move them around whilst playing.

The sale consists is

4 blocks of 25 Night Goblin units- each of them have an old retro GW character. Each of them has a musician, standard bearer and champion 2 also include nets please be aware that one unit has a normal bog standard movement tray from GW.

2 blocks of 35 Night Goblins which consists of (1 of them has been converted to a battle standard) these two units have had a little bit more love! Which continues the overall feel and look of the army and they also include nets.

2 blocks of 20 short bow archers. These come with a musician.

8 snotling bases.

1 Goblin Doom Diver.

1 Rock Lobba.

2 sets of 5 Spider Riders. The unit has been converted as if crawling over rocks.

3 sets of 5 Goblin Wolf Riders. And then there are 4 Goblin Wolf Riders. Again these are converted and
themed and 10 have already been painted as a bonus and are painted to a standard which is above table top quality.

1 Giant which would ultimately be one of the centre pieces for the army.

3 Trolls. Again these are extensively converted –please see pic as me talking about it doesn’t do it as much justice.

7 squig hoppers. This is one of my most favourite units as in the game they are brilliant.

5 Fanatics 2 of them are missing their ball and chain but don’t let that put you off you can easily pick them up on ebay for next to nothing.

2 scratch built bolt throwers.

3 metal old school sorcerers and a Goblin Warboss.

Also included is a bits box with odds and sods as you will need to replace some of the missing weapons in some of the units also the might be missing arm here or there but nothing major and hopefully these bits and pieces will help. Honesty is the best policy.

The starting price I feel is very reasonable considering the amount of time and effort that has already been put into this project and easily justifies the price so hopefully it will go to a good home.

Ork Dred Bash 1750pts So Here It Is My Tournament Army (PICS)

Just recently came across these pictures and I thought I would share them with yourselves, all of them were taken a few years ago at a tournament I attended at Q con in 2009.

So here it is in all its glory and there's nothing more satisfying when playing in tournaments when you start to deploy your army and see the hard work that you've put in pays off. It all seems so worthwhile from start to finish, and hopefully motivates others to do the same.

So below is the list that I took and over all it was quite effective on the tabletop and finishing 9th which overall wasn't too bad a result, I made loads of mistakes when playing but that's just the way it goes.

Total 1750pts

Overall the project took about three and a half months to complete from start to finish no easy task, mainly painting in my spare time in the evening after work

I think from the start of the project, colour was very important as it's very easy to distinguish between all the different units something that can become very difficult in tournament play.
Overall I'm very pleased the way it has turned out it has lots of colour and conversions which really do make the difference.

So next is the big boys themselves, and I've always thought that there would be a lot of rivalry between the two of them trying to get the attention of the war boss

No Dred Bash would be complete with out 2 Dred eagerly marching to war.

In most recent years you do not get to see dread bash as kan wall seems to be more widely used

I was really pleased the way the yellow came out as it can be a tricky colour to do properly the way I do mine started off with a dark brown colour and then mix yellow gradually.

The display board hopefully I'll cover in another post sometime in the future as it was done a few years prior, but as you can see it's definitely home for the boys.

So hopefully you have been inspired.

Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka Created By Andy Chambers In 1991

So with the Heroes of Armageddon project recently starting on the Internet, I thought I would go back in time and find out exactly where the big man came from so,

I'm currently working on a couple of projects at the moment and have been looking through some of my old white dwarf magazines for much-needed inspiration, and recently came across number 134

This is the first time Ghazghkull was mentioned and was created by Andy Chambers back in the day in 1991, and he dedicated to numerous pages to the project in great detail within the pages of this white dwarf. I would highly recommend picking it up on eBay if you can. As I'm sure like me you will find that something new within its pages.

Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka Goff Warband By Andy Chambers 1991

In the above picture what I really like is all the different elements and colour that really stand out on this page, from all the different boss polls, flags, and uniqueness of all the different unit types, that gives the whole army a sense of individuality and uniqueness something not seen and missing currently today in gamers armies.

The Inspiration

I especially love all the different units and themes throughout, something missing and seldom seen today in gamer armies and it really gives it a sense of old-school.

I especially like the use of this page explaining all the different symbols on the banner and fluff.

the man himself in all his glory or should I say Ork.

If you look closely you can see the use of all the ork shoota to represent status and hierarchy within the unit something which I'm going to do in the near future.

probably my favorite picture if you look in the background the ork building and the two battlewagons look amazing.

so to finish things off I'm going to try with my next project to incorporate some of the above character into the project so hopefully it shouldn't be too long before I post some pics.

So what I have learnt
1. To include more character in my next ork project?
2. Also to expand my colour scheme?

What I would do differently
1. look for more inspiration on the Internet when starting a project?
2. Give names to all my units?
