Finally a new post, and time to upgrade my Plague Marines.

So I haven't done much hobby in the last six months, but this evening I managed to do a little bit of work on my Plague Marines, also thinking of upgrading the other ones to bigger baces.

40k Orks Nobs The bigger they are the harder they fight.

Nobs are the backbone of any ork army and these guys are at the top of the food chain, and they certainly need to look the part. I have done many different types of nobs over the years. I was lucky enough to pick up some of these from a friend who didn't need them anymore, and I am already thinking about maybe organising them into a unit to represent some ork eavy armour boys.

I've also been a big fan of the old metal warboss model, which I have managed to include in some of these conversions which, gives them a sense of scale probably one of my most favourite models.

So another post and something definitely to celebrate considering last year was such a poor year for posting stuff on the blog. I would like to share my 8 converted tankbuster boys. Apparently they're one of the best units in our Codex at the minute, and I've only played them a couple of times with some good results on the table top. And it's definitely worthwhile giving them some good stuff from your bits box and make them a little bit different and more unique than other regular boys, after all not everyone has access to a rockets.

My 1st post of the new year, orks old school warbikes.

Things have been a bit slow around these parts over recent months, especially last year as, I simply didn't have the time to update my blog regularly. I thought it was about time that I posted what I'm currently working on and to get this year off to the best possible start. My new ork warbikes are very simple to convert and make, by using a couple of bits and pieces from my bits box. And I think you'll agree they look brilliant.

What a hectic couple of months, as with work commitments and every day life, it's certainly had an impact in regards to my ability on posting regular updates on my blog. But fear not I have still been very busy on the hobby front' and as you can see in the pictures. I'm really enjoying the project and it's probably one of the best bits when you look back and see things starting to really take shape. I'm still working on other chaos stuff which are under development and hopefully over the next couple of weeks I'll be able to showcase them.

Like most of us I cannot justify spending money to buy an official one from forge world, so I have decided to have a go at making one myself. And as always I'm looking to keep things as cheap as physically possible, using materials that you can easily get around the house. So after I did a little bit of research I realise that I plan to make a 4X4 boards worth of tiles Plus in time I'm going to make little bits and pieces of scenery as well as bulkheads doors, to make things look a little bit more realistic.

The tiles themselves are very simple to make, using polystyrene cardboard formboard and textured paint.

A simple project and hopefully it will inspire you to make your own as you can see of hundreds of pounds doing it yourself and as always with a little bit of work, it's easily enough done, and looks great on the table top.

For painting I wanted it to be dark and Gothic I didn't want to much colour which and I also ruled out painting the floor silver as I thought it didn't look quite right. As things stand I'm really pleased and in time Will definitely be doing a couple of other little bits and pieces to add a little bit more character to the boards look over all.

How To Make 3D Dungeon Tiles for D&D Warhammer Quest, Advanced HeroQuest, Or Any Dungeon Crawler.

Over recent weeks the boys and I have been playing a lot more Hero quest recently, and we decided to do something a little bit different which will hopefully give our dungeon crawling a little bit more of the 3D dimension. So as always the project needs to be as cheap as physically possible as I was originally going to pick up a game of advanced hero quest on eBay but considering that they are priced at £75+ It's a little bit over my budget. I've decided that I'm simply going to make my own out of the materials that I can either get in work or I have lying around the house.

Now it's the best bit of the hoddy for me, looking around the Internet to see what inspiration I can get and there is so many people doing such great things.

To start the materials that you will need is call foamboard, it is available from any good hobbyist or a craft shops near you, cut out to the appropriate size of corridors and rooms you want, remove one side of the paper side on the foamboard which will hopefully show the polystyrene underneath, to get the texture simply get a Garden stone and rocket back and forward on the formboard and it will give you the texture that you're looking for that will make your tiles to stand out on you table.

The next step with the ruler is the mark your squares, and it's pretty much job done. just remember it doesn't necessarily have to be the neatest as it all adds character.

40k Chaos Spawns Mark of Nurgle Conversions.

More slow but steady progress with my chaos army this week, and not willing to spend any money to buy the official models themselves, I decided to see if I could convert my own with little bits and pieces from my hobby collection. They are pretty self explanatory some nids bits and pieces and WFB goblin spider riders, and it's pretty much job done. So by experimenting a little with the stuff that you have lying around in your collection it just goes to show what can be achieved and much-needed inspiration and until next time enjoy.

My new the fly, Nurgle Maulerfiend conversion.

Looking to keep things as cheap as possible this is what I came across on eBay for the grand price of 99p, Movie Maniacs Series 3 The Fly Brundle Fly Mcfarlane, although it was missing one of its arms but that is certainly isn't going to be a problem, and and easy fix.

As always it will need a little bit of work but when finished I think it's going to look great, all to often you just see a fat blob, or something very similar when you see Nurgle conversions on the net, unless I'm mistaken I don't think I have seen it anywhere else. The theme of the fly will fit in very nicely into the nurgle fluff and give the army something that is very unique.

The model itself is just over 6 inches so I'm going to have to shorten its legs for it to walk on all 4s which isn't too much of a problem.

It might be a little bit taller than the original 40k Maulerfiend model, but overall it will be something different so might be putting myself at a little bit more of a disadvantage on the table but I don't care it looks cool.

Just another update in regards to what I've done so far in the last couple of days, and hopefully the pics can illustrate what I've achieved by adding little bits and pieces to the model overall. Just remember there is no right and wrong in regards to what you can do. And just keep a good look out when you're out and about in the shops as you don't know what you might come across, especially anything to do with making papercraft because all the little bits and pieces may come in very handy.

And I highly recommend these, as you'll be surprised what you can pick up in pound stores, as you simply push them into your green stuff.

So this guy is pretty much complete Just still to do a little bit more work in regards to his back and it will be job done.
